As 2026 approaches, the Alumni Association of the School of Management and Engineering, Nanjing University Alumni General Association extends its most sincere New Year greetings and best wishes to the alumni of the School of Management and Engineering from all over the world and friends from all walks of life who have always cared for and supported the development of the school!
Time flies, and seasons change. 2025 is a crucial year for the school to build on past achievements and forge ahead. Standing at the historical juncture of the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan, all teachers and students of the school uphold the university motto of Sincerity, Integrity, Grandeur, and Diligence in Learning and the school motto of Pursuing Truth through Learning, and Committing to Serving the Public, and have achieved encouraging results in discipline construction, scientific research innovation, talent training, international exchanges, and other aspects: the discipline construction has reached a new height, new breakthroughs have been made in the construction of China's independent knowledge system of complex systems management, the 2nd Academic Forum of the University Alliance for Building China's Independent Knowledge System of Complex Systems Management has been jointly organized, the Series of Books on the Independent Knowledge System of Complex Systems Management has been planned and published one after another, the Sheng Zhaohan Complex Systems Management Development Fund, Nanjing University has been established and the first Outstanding Contribution Award has been awarded, the teaching seminar on the course Basic Theories of Engineering Management has been held, and the independent knowledge system has been promoted to enter textbooks and classrooms; the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Digital Finance (Co-constructed) has been added, and the 22nd China Finance Annual Conference and the 4th China Postgraduate Financial Technology Innovation Competition have been successfully held; scientific research innovation has achieved frequent successes, with 1 national key R&D program project, 1 major project topic of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 12 general and youth projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China approved, serving the construction of the national smart logistics system, and the Digital Supply Chain Joint Research Center co-established with China Storage Intelligent Transportation has been successfully signed; talent training has achieved fruitful results, 2 courses have been approved as national first-class courses, and students have won many honors such as the national gold medal in competitions such as the China International College Students' Innovation Competition; the doctoral student Party branch has successfully passed the acceptance of the 100 National Model Postgraduate Party Branches by the Ministry of Education, and the Jingwei Counselor Studio has been selected into the National University Counselor Master Studio by the Ministry of Education; international exchanges have continued to deepen, close cooperation has been established with many overseas universities, and the pattern of international education has been further expanded.
This year, alumni liaison has been full of warmth, and the foundation of the college community has been consolidated. The school has always regarded alumni as its most precious wealth and solid reliance. In 2025, we visited outstanding alumni in Beijing, Suzhou, Huzhou and other places, conducted in-depth exchanges, and discussed development together; we welcomed the 10th anniversary of the graduation of the 2011 undergraduate alumni, and also held the Zhiren Alumni Forum, with many alumni returning to share their wisdom; the Beijing alumni gathering at the end of the year filled the winter with warmth.
2026 is a crucial year for the school to fully implement the 15th Five-Year Plan and move towards the goal of an internationally first-class interdisciplinary college. We will closely focus on the national 'AI+' Initiative, take complex systems management as the guide, focus on building an AI platform, strive to optimize the discipline layout, attract and cultivate first-class teachers, deepen interdisciplinary integration, improve the quality of talent training, strengthen organized scientific research, and promote the all-round transformation of the school and discipline development paradigm in the AI era.
Alumni are the most shining business card of the school and the most trustworthy force for the school's development. We sincerely look forward to all alumni returning to the school often, visiting teachers and friends, renewing friendships, and discussing development. Every reunion is a condensation of emotions; every exchange is a gathering of strength. The small courtyard at No. 5 Pingcang Lane will always be open to welcome every student home.
